Sforzando is a classical piano-organ and vocal duo from Edinburgh. They approached me to create a logo, brand identity and responsive website.
The website should showcase audio, video and visual content and allow visitors to contact the business in order to make bookings and enquiries. The site should have a classical feel to it and be simple to use across mobile and desktop devices.
Creating a brand
The branding was kept deliberately simple to reflect their classical style. The logo incorporates the "Sf" abbreviation for "Sforzando", which is used to indicate a forceful accent in musial notation. A monochrome palette was chosen with sharp accents of yellow as a highlight colour. I also designed branded business cards to acompany the web design.
Establishing a site architecture
After an initial consultation period to understand the business' requirements, I worked to establish a logical site architecture. After this followed a process of wireframing before creating an interactive mockup to pass onto the client. Once the structure was established, I proceeded to build a prototype and continued to iterate and refine.
